The Gryphon 2, Our 4th Generation Gryphon!

The Gryphon 2 represents the latest Dearborn Group advanced network analyzer tool. Descendent of the original Gryphon, S-CAT2 and S-3 analyzers, it is the 4th generation of the Gryphon family. It uses the same Gryphon personality cards for multiple protocol support and each platform is compatible with the others. Software support is the same.

The Gryphon 2 supports module flashing including GM DPS tools. It connects your PC to various busses such as CAN, LIN and J1850. It monitors these busses and provides access to them and to the data on them.

The new Gryphon 2 is a universal network Bus Analyzer for:

• CAN, Single Wire CAN Fault Tolerant CAN, LIN, ISO 11992, ISO 11898, J1939, J1850 (Class 2, SCP, PCI), KWP2000, CANopen, Honda UART and several proprietary, custom protocols.

Our Gryphon - S3 package is the newest of the GM recommended tools. Featuring our high-end analyzer, Hercules, and a Wireless Interface, this package is designed to support advanced communication with in-vehicle networks for use in a variety of applications including diagnostics, simulation, and various custom applications.

The Gryphon - S3 hardware is compact, fast, and has built-in support for GMLAN CAN, along with one expansion slot to support a specific plug-in protocol module. Additionally, its operating compact flash memory has been increased to 128 MB, Wireless 802.11 A/B/G support, and 10/100T Ethernet connection, and an OBDII cable.

The DPA RF is the wireless interface that belongs to the DPA product family - a group of tools used to interconnect serial communication networks and PCs. It is provided with the TruckConnect™ software library that is common to all DPA family products to provide flexibility across all hardware platforms and networks.

How it works:

The DPA RF system has two components - the Base station and the Remote station - and can be configured in either of the following two ways:

Purchase one of each component -- in this configuration, the Base station is always connected to the PC and transmits wirelessly to the Remote Station. While the Remote station can communicate wirelessly to the Base station or directly to the PC.

Purchase two Remote stations -- in this configuration, they can communicate to each other for one wireless system, or they can each be connected directly to the PC to serve as two (non-wireless) systems.

TruckConnect Software Library

The TruckConnect™ programming interface includes an RP1210A driver and a C library API for Windows. Simple changes to an INI file allows you to quickly change to different hardware platforms without re-coding your software. This library also provides a CALLBACK feature that creates a dedicated thread to retrieve messages continuously. To further offload PC overhead it also supports the J1939 transport protocol in the hardware.
