How to Import a Vector Database into Hercules

Here is an example of how to import a vector database into hercules.

Reference the Hercules Manual, Section 3.3.5.2 - Import Database from Vector Database (DBC)

You can use a database from a Vector .dbc file, but it first needs to be converted to Hercules (.mdb) format. Use the following steps to import and convert a DBC file database.

  1. Select the Database menu.
  2. Select the Import Database option.
  3. From Vector Database file to Convert
  4. Enter the Hercules Database Name to Save As
  5. Define the Import Options. Choose the desired options from Data Format and Error Log. To import the file, click the appropriate button in the Do you wish to view Frames / Signals information? option. If you click No, Hercules automatically imports the database with default signal types. If you click Yes, you will be required to confirm the data type for each item in the signal list by Clicking Next>> to continue.

After the database has been successfully imported it can be associated to the Hercules application and viewed and modified.
