DG Technologies’ Mark Zachos Receives Top Trucking Industry Award
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 30, 2026 – DG Technologies is proud to announce that its president and founder, Mark Zachos, has received one of the trucking industry’s most distinguished honors for his contributions in the areas of network communications and vehicle cybersecurity.

Zachos was one of four people last week to be presented the prestigious Silver Spark Plug award in Nashville, Tenn., at TMC’s 2026 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition, the spring meeting of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC).
The Silver Spark Plug is TMC’s highest distinction, bestowed annually on individuals who demonstrate professional excellence in commercial vehicle maintenance and improved equipment and components that result in increased efficiency and safety for commercial highway transportation.
“Our winners represent the highest level of expertise and ability in our industry,” said TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell.
In Nashville for the annual meeting and to help the DG Technologies sales team promote the company’s new DGDiagnostics software, its newest DPA XL PRO vehicle diagnostic device and its Truck-Connect online suite of engineering and diagnostic software, Zachos said he was surprised and thrilled to hear his named called.

Scott Bartlein of Truck Fleet Management, Taki Darakos of PITT OHIO and Jack Legler of TMC/ATA were also awarded the honor.
Zachos is considered an industry expert in vehicle communication and cybersecurity. His company, DG Technologies, which he founded as The Dearborn Group in 1987 outside of Detroit, specializes in engineering and manufacturing diagnostic tools used by engineers and technicians throughout the auto, truck and bus industries and the U.S. military. In 2019, the company acquired Synercon Technologies, taking over its manufacturing of crash data recovery tools used by law enforcement agencies throughout the country.
A member of TMC since 2009, Zachos’s work with the organization helps create standards that are followed by the entire industry. He currently chairs the Cybersecurity Task Force as part of TMC’s S.5 Fleet Maintenance Management Study Group and is also part of the S.12 Onboard Vehicle Electronics Study Group.
Zachos has also been active in the council’s Technology & Educator and Future Truck committees and has worked on the Health Ready Component Standards, Root Cause Analysis, Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) Codes, Device Security, Open Wireless and RP 1210 Update task forces. He chairs, and works with his team from DG Technologies to run the Cybersecurity Station every fall at TMCSuperTech and he is a regular guest on TMC’s satellite and internet radio segment “Tech Talk with TMC” with Braswell and Dave Nemo.
In presenting the award, TMC 2025-2026 General Chairman Radu Mihai said of Zachos, “He has served TMC for more than two decades, providing leadership and training in cybersecurity and network communications, and he has helped develop the council’s thought leadership in these areas.”
To qualify for the Silver Spark Plug award, a TMC member must demonstrate clear industry leadership, at least five years of active service in support of TMC leadership or activities and contributions of new ideas, practices or innovations that have contributed materially to improvement of management and maintenance of commercial motor vehicles.
“TMC’s members keep our industry moving and these four individuals represent the highest level of the professional excellence the council strives for,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear.
“More than half of the 8.4 million people employed by the trucking industry do something other than drive a truck, and without them, our nation’s good would not be delivered to our stores, hospitals and factories,” Spear said. “These individuals are examples to all of us in this industry and we are proud to honor them with this award.”

Upon receiving the award, Zachos was thrilled to send word back to his Michigan office. “This honor truly belongs to our entire DG team and it was made possible by your dedication to serving our customers,” he said. “I am proud to act on behalf of all of you at TMC.”

DG Technologies Announces the launch of the new DPA XL PRO diagnostic adapter, and DGD PRO diagnostic software!
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – February 25, 2026 – DG Technologies announces the launch of its new DPA XL PRO scan tools and DGD PRO diagnostic software as part of the next generation in DG’s trusted Dearborn Protocol Adapter (DPA) line of heavy-duty diagnostic hardware and software engineered for fleets, OEMs and service professionals who depend on reliability, cybersecurity and future-ready performance.
Like its predecessor DG Diagnostics (DGD), the updated DGD PRO diagnostic software works with the DPA XL PRO adapter to allow service bay technicians to quickly diagnose and report vehicle health issues without having to purchase full-featured OEM software.
As commercial trucks adopt higher-speed networks and increasingly necessary cybersecurity requirements, traditional diagnostic tools these days often fall short. Built to meet these challenges head-on, both DGD PRO and the DPA XL PRO scan tool integrate advanced vehicle communication capabilities with CyberGuard, DG Technologies’ enhanced cybersecurity protection suite.
The rugged, shop-ready DPA XL PRO adapter combines secure wireless connectivity and broad OEM software compatibility to protect uptime and streamlines service operations. With built-in secure WiFi and Bluetooth radios, and support for modern protocols, the DPA XL PRO ensures technicians’ safe access to critical vehicle systems without compromising network integrity and security. DG Technologies’ patented smart pin-switching technology eliminates the need to buy redundant cables when industry standards change.
Designed and built in the United States, the DPA XL PRO delivers advanced support for Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP), J1939 and J1708, among other heavy-duty communication protocols, and ensures seamless access to vehicle data across diesel, alternative and zero-emission platforms.
Engineered for both current and future vehicle architectures, the DPA XL PRO features a secure firmware update process and compatibility with DGD PRO and the rest of DG Technologies’ Truck-Connect advanced diagnostic predictive maintenance software suite to deliver fast, accurate insights while protecting vehicle networks. DPA XL PRO also works with DG’s DPA Health, DPA Inspect, DPA Mobile Diagnostics, TruckCrypt2 and Blue Bird NEAT Software.
DPA XL PRO will be available through DG Technologies and authorized distributors. For more information on it and the soon-to-be released DGD PRO software, visit www.dgtech.com or contact the DG sales team at (248) 888-2000 or sales@dgtech.com.

ABOUT DPA HEALTH:
DPA Health is a PC software application that runs on a laptop, plugs into the truck through a DG Technologies DPA XL. The software securely extracts data from the vehicle network, sends that encrypted data to the cloud through your wireless connection from the PC and in less than 5 minutes you can see the results for state of health of your vehicles electrical system components. Fleet managers and owners can then log into the www.truck-connect.com portal and get an overall view of their entire vehicle fleet.
Electrical Health System Monitoring: Modern vehicles are becoming more electrified and integrated with multiple ECUs and sensors, which make them smarter in terms of engine diagnostics, performance, fuel efficiency, security, safety and stability. So the ability to save time while monitoring those systems in your fleet is critical to protecting your uptime. All this from DG Technologies, the company that brings you the #1 products and services for secure diagnostics and predictive maintenance. DPA Health provides a portable diagnostic solution for your vehicles’ electrical applications. It is a predictive analytic tool set that assesses the current condition of the primary electrical systems:
Battery / Battery Pack Health
Starting System Health
Charging System Health
The use of the vehicle CAN communication network messages allows for downloading of data, scheduling of maintenance, and integration with other fleet management systems.
The DPA Health analysis is done in the cloud and reported back to the technician on the PC within seconds of completing the test sequence.
DPA Health and the www.truck-connect.com cloud portal access is designed to work with a laptop and a DG Technologies DPA XL.
